Dr. Alexey Alexeyenko deputy head of the Rosselkhoznadzor and the State Secretary for Agriculture Mr. Panagiotis Sgouridis
The results of checks carried out by the step of the Rosselkhoznadzor in Greek fish business, milk and meat and to the inspection system in the following will apply to exported products of plant and animal origin in the Russian Federation speaks the official site of Rosselkhoznadzor:
"During the meeting between the Russian delegation headed by Dr. Alexey Alexeyenko, deputy head of the Rosselkhoznadzor and the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture of Greece, on April 30, it was decided to sign two cooperation protocols between the veterinary and phytosanitary services in Greece and Rosselkhoznadzor.
In addition it was reported that due to the economic crisis, which has caused, among other things, the understaffing of Greek veterinary services, many of the companies which were audited by Rosselkhoznadzor, seemed to be visibly weak on their preparation for testing. Specifically, non-conformities found regarding compliance with the requirements of Russian law and obligations supervision of Greek Veterinary Services. Nevertheless some of the companies were well prepared and need not be substantial corrective action.
In order to overcome the problematic situation mentioned, it was determined that the control and assurance of product quality hereafter consists of three mandatory levels:
At the first level are the firms concerned, which constantly and consistently must meet the requirements of Russian legislation.
The second level is the pre-checks and controls of A CERT European Organization for Certification (to be held regularly checks on premises and sampling of cargo on a regular basis). The A CERT has developed a reliable and effective control and certification system to ensure the delivery of quality agricultural products and foodstuffs to Russia which is welcomed by the agricultural industry and the food industry.
The third level is the relevant public service in Greece, which will have to do their part of the work in compliance with Russian requirements.
