Russia may ban the import of meat and dairy products from Greece

According to Rosselkhoznadzor previously granted guarantees Veterinary Service of Greece, are not justified

Rosselhoznadzor Russia may impose a ban on the import of finished meat and dairy products from the Greek enterprises, reports Prime citing department spokesman Alexei Alekseyenko.

"In Greece, during the inspection revealed several violations, and most unacceptable to us is that we have supplied with the products from there companies that have not been approved for delivery to the Customs Union. Meanwhile, the products had not only a Greek origin, but also in other countries, "- he said.

According to him, the Veterinary Service of Greece guarantees provided earlier is not justified, despite the fact that under these guarantees included 90% of Greek enterprises.

"In the near future we will have to make a decision with respect to these companies. But since the violations are systematic, they will engage in dialogue with the Veterinary Service of Greece - we want to find out how they are going to solve the problem. Likely outcome may be a ban on the supply of Greek food in Russia ", - said Alekseyenko.

Moreover, he added that the agency insists on holding talks with Greek colleagues in the coming weeks.
